The ex Olympic champion was on Tuesday sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for the negligent shooting of his girlfriend River Steenkamp which occurred in February 2013.
The soft spoken athlete was also given a 3 year sentence on a firearms charge, but it was suspended for 5 years on condition he's not found guilty of another crime where there's negligence involving a firearm during that period. That count related to an occasion when Pistorius discharged a handgun under a table in a busy restaurant. No one was however hurt on this occasion.
Pistorius was in complete silence as the sentence was being read early this morning. He will be spending his first night in prison at Kgosi Mampuru II Pretoria.
Way 2 small! Hiss and he might even get out early.
